Our weekend adventure...

...this past weekend was a trip to the Los Angeles zoo. It was such a pleasant surprise to find it bigger, cleaner and filled with many more exhibits than my previous visit just a few years ago. Cooper LOVED the giraffes and the gorillas the most. He waved his arms and yelled in excitement. Seeing his reaction to those two sets of animals alone was worth the trip.

On our way home Cooper finally took a snooze. He had skipped one of his naps earlier in the day so rather than risk him waking up too soon by going straight home we kept driving and headed out toward Ventura county to find a farm stand where we could pick up some fresh fruits and nuts - and we sure hit the jackpot with the biggest, juiciest and sweetest strawberries of the year - YUMMMMMMMY!!!! :) What was neat is this was our first strawberry pilgrimage since I was on bed rest when Bob and my dad set me up in the back seat of the car with pillows so I could get out for a scenic drive but still follow the rules of laying down and get to bring back the most amazing strawberries which of course were grown in Oxnard. Oh how delicious. And, oh how far we've come since that last trip with Cooper now 10.5 months old already!
