A fun weekend so far

Last night the three of us had dinner across the street at our neighbor's house - they invited us and another family to celebrate the January birthday girls (myself included). Cooper was awesome - very happy and playful. He had a ball watching the other little boys that were there (age 5 & 8) who took an interest in Cooper. Cooper said "Hi" four times - every time in response to one of the little boys saying it to him. It was hilarious. Dinner was great and it was fun to have adult conversation that was not work related. :)

Today was fun too. Cooper and I went to our first Mommy and Me "meet up" event where we gathered at a local Starbucks to meet other working moms in the area and their babies. It was a small group - three mommies - and we all had baby boys. One baby was a couple weeks younger than Cooper, and the other baby was 15 months old. Cooper was awesome - very happy and giggly in response to the ladies and their babies and when he got tired he just quietly fell asleep as I held him - no crying or fussing at all. The ladies seem very nice and we're planning future gatherings at different places. It will be nice to get to know some new friends in town and for Cooper to have interaction with other babies in small group settings since he isn't in daycare anymore where he got to see other babies. While we were there, the 15 month old baby was fed a jar of sweet potatoes and I kept trying to get Cooper to watch and see how he happily welcomed the food with a wide open mouth LOL...not sure if he noticed or not but wouldn't it be great if he figured it out by watching/seeing another baby eat!? I can dream, right?

Tomorrow won't be quite as fun - we'll be cleaning the house and running errands all day - blech!
