The vet called with some good news (thank God!) - she has a "gnarly" urinary tract infection that they're treating with fluids and antibiotics. The vet said that it's not worsening of the kidney disease (thank God!) and she's going to be ok. She can come home tonight and will continue to be on antibiotics for a while.
I think (and hope) that the waterworks are done for the day (or really for the week or longer).

Whooo hooo how's that for my quick guess of a diagnoisis ;). Glad to hear Ms. "Spunky" Winnie is coming home no worse for the wear (other than a "narly" UTI!)
