8 lbs, 2 oz, and rash/infection-free =)

A quick follow-up visit at the pediatrician today....

A week of antibiotic ointment did the trick on Cooper's skin rash which was a form of staph infection that developed while in the hospital but was thought to be heat rash at the time - in the fold of his neck. At his 2-week appointment the doc said it still appeared to be heat rash and was minor and told us to apply desitin as we had already begun to do. But after 4 weeks we noticed it had worsened so we brought him in again, had it cultured and got a Rx ointment to treat it. A few days later the doc called and said it was staph. We're so glad the ointment cleared it up because we didn't want to have to give him oral antibiotics since he's still so young/little. Big sigh of relief there!

And....Cooper weighed in at 8 lbs, 2 oz today! Yay! He's gained 13 oz in 8 days and a total of nearly 3 lbs in less than 6 weeks!
